Time

In this body of work, I combined photographs of myself, locations, and objects to create new photographic collage pieces. Each composition was intuitively created, using physical and digital elements to symbolize a moment in time. The composites aim to remind us of familiar recurring experiences, ones that are often intentionally overlooked.

Within each composition, there is one clear object among the vague that speaks to both the subject and the witness. The clarity represents the vivid memory that constantly intrudes upon the subject while also serving as tangible evidence present on the surface, perhaps the only truth the observer is willing to accept. The strung object is supported in interior and exterior spaces, highlighting the nondiscriminatory characteristic of locations, which aren’t to be held accountable. With this work, I aim to explore the uncomfortable truths that are often easier to ignore than confront.
